Wine & Beer Testing

Our new testing machine can perform a number of complex tests on your wine and beer for production information, troubleshooting or just to satisfy your own curiosity.  A detailed list of the tests available and pricing will be posted as soon as we have finalised them, so keep an eye on this spot.

Corker Hire

To make corking your wine bottling easier we hire out a pedestal corker. This corker can be hired for a day or the weekend. As there is only one corker it is a good idea to book it in advance to avoid any disappointment.

$2.75/DAY (Pick up 1 day & return the next)

$5.50/WEEKEND (pick up on Friday & return on Monday)

 Vacuum Bottling Machine

This machine allows you to bottle your wine whilst minimising it's exposure to oxygen. A good tool for medium to large volumes of wine ( 25+L). It has a bottling capacity of 300 bottles per hour with a variable filling capacity.

$10.50/DAY

TOP

Heat Shrink Capsuler

You can use this machine to put the heat shrink capsules on your wine bottles to make them look that little bit more professional.

$5.50/DAY

Grain Mill

Due to the nature of crushed grain it isn't advisable to pre crush the grain too far in advance. The main issue is that crushed grain doesn't keep fresh for extended periods of time. We now have available a hand operated grain mill for hire to allow you to have the freshest possible crushed grain for your mash beer.

$2.00/NIGHT

$3.50/WEEKEND (pick up on Friday & return on Monday)

TOP

Wine Press & Grape Crusher

Unfortunately we are unable to provide a hire service for these items. The two main reasons for this are

  1. The risk of contaminating your good quality grapes with another persons contaminated grapes. This is possible as once wood is contaminated it is either very hard or next to impossible to sterilise.

  2. The expense of the equipment vs. the time of use. Everyone would want the equipment in the same 2/3 weeks and then they would sit around for the next 11+ months gathering dust/contaminants.

Heaters Problems ???

We can check your heater to see if it is working properly.

If you need a new heater we will fit it to your lid for the cost of the parts we need to use and not for the labour.  This can usually be done while you wait, depending on the time of day and how busy it is at the time.

TOP

Cherry Pitter

We have a cherry pitter available to borrow. These little jobbies are a great thing for removing olive and cherry stones.

No cost for a couple of days

TOP

Must Pump

We have a must pump available for hire, that attaches to a drill, to transfer large quantities of wine or beer without moving your drums.  The cost is $2 overnight or $4 for the weekend.

Deliveries

If you live in Tasmania we recommend Tasmanian Redline Coaches for transport of goods.  Charges for Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Devonport are $6.60 or $9.00 to other areas.  The charges apply to cartons up to 20Kg and can be delivered to your door (so if you purchase a carton of beer mixes and receive your $3 discount it almost covers the freight!!!).  Get your orders in by lunchtime as our ruggedly handsome mate Scott picks up everyday at 2:30p.m.  Here he is hard at work!!!!!
